| Vita | About MeI like exploring new things, spending sleepless nights wondering, and dreaming about solutions to problems when I am sleeping (Basically, your classical definition of a nerd). I got my bachelors degree in Mining Engineering from IT, BHU, INDIA, in 1988. My masters degree was in Mine Electrical systems from The Pennsylvania State University. I received my Ph. D. in Management Science and Information Systems at Graduate School of Business,The University of Texas at Austin, in August 1996. At University of Texas I spent most of my time at Center for Information Sytems Management [Now called:Center for Research on Electronic Commerce (CREC)], where I worked on developing models and methods for real-time problem solving and resource management in computer networks. One of the application areas I am working on is economic issues in Electronic Commerce. At present I am a Professor at the Deapartment of Information and Decision Sciences at Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Before joining Carlson School of Management, I was at the department of Operations and Information Management at University of Connecticut. This is more-or-less, the text of my first web page that was created back in 1993 (there were less than 250K pages on the web then). For a more formal version of my page go to OPIM Research Page. |
